Hair loss is one of the major problems for men, women and children. Persons suffering from severe hair loss may even lose their self-confidence. Losing hair can be stressful for everyone, especially for teenagers. Hair loss can occur due to several causes.

Most of the women notice hair loss for about 3 months after they give birth to a child. This is also due to hormonal imbalance.
Intake of certain some medicines such as anticoagulant medicines, acne medicines, gout medicines, chemotherapy medicines used to treat cancer, diet pills, blood pressure medicines, birth control pills, antidepressants, steroids like testosterone, and over dosage of some vitamins, can cause hair loss. Chemotherapy medicines not only destroy cancer cells but also destroy cells in charge for normal growth of hair and nails.
Improper care of your hair can cause hair loss. Using tight hair rollers and hair bands can cause hair loss. Wearing pigtails or cornrows causes hair loss. Improper or regular chemical treatments and hot oil treatments of hair such as getting your such as hair coloring, bleaching, straightening, or curling can damage or break your hair and may cause falling of hair. This can also result in severe hair loss. Traction alopecia, which is the result of tension on the scalp due to wearing hair pulled so tightly, can damage the hair follicles. Destruction of hair follicles causes permanent hair loss. Transitory damage to the hair follicles causes temporary hair loss.
Poor eating results in poor nutrition to the body. Poor nutrition can invite hair loss since your body doesn’t get enough protein, vitamins, and minerals to sustain hair growth.
Losing about 50 to 100 hairs per day is normal. But if you are losing more than the normal level, then you must be aware that something may be wrong. Recognizing the real cause for hair loss can help you to find the proper treatment for your hair loss. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause of your hair fall at the earliest so that the disease can be diagnosed before becoming worse.
